PRAYER
PRAYER
Prayer should be our first response and not our last resort! If you ever get to a place in your life where you feel like something is missing, it’s probably a connection problem: you are disconnected from God and too connected to the world. Prayer connects us to God. At Harvest, we hope to inspire our people to a lifestyle of making prayer the normal and first response to all of life.
FASTING
Fasting is the practice of giving up something we normally consume to focus on God. Fasting teaches us to say "no" to our desires and focus our needs toward God. While often and historically this practice has centered on food intake, food is not the only thing you can fast from in. Prayer and fasting can have a powerful impact on setting your life back on track.
Say "yes" to God and "no" to your appetite.
Fasting can help us In our journey to live “self-controlled and godly lives” (Titus 2:11-12). This practice can be a great tool to learn to say “no” to the physical demands of our bodies while saying “yes” to God. By abstaining from what we normally consume and using the added time to focus on God, we train ourselves in obedience to God.

“We are entirely inadequate on our own to fulfill God's call on our lives. Yet we are not asked to do God's will with our own power! It has been said that when we work, we work but when we pray, God works. I am convinced that if we truly expect God can and will do great things in and through us then we will seek God in prayer with great expectation.”
