First, read the following passage from Sunday’s message:
Revelation 2:12-17 (ESV)
12 “And to the angel of the church in Pergamum write: ‘The words of him who has the sharp two-edged sword.13 “‘I know where you dwell, where Satan's throne is. Yet you hold fast my name, and you did not deny my faith even in the days of Antipas my faithful witness, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells. 14 But I have a few things against you: you have some there who hold the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, so that they might eat food sacrificed to idols and practice sexual immorality. 15 So also you have some who hold the teaching of the Nicolaitans. 16 Therefore repent. If not, I will come to you soon and war against them with the sword of my mouth. 17 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, with a new name written on the stone that no one knows except the one who receives it."
Jesus encourages this church to reject the false teachings and ways of those who participate in sexual immorality and idolatry.
Over the next 6 days, we'll highlight different parts of this letter to the Church in Pergamum. Each day you'll also have one additional Bible passage to read and pray through. The only way to deny false teachings/ways of life, is to know the truth. So when you devote yourself to know Jesus and his word, you are devoting yourself to truth, enabling yourself to reject evil and embrace good.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV
16 "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God[b]may be complete, equipped for every good work."
In Revelation 2:17, Jesus says he is the hidden manna. Meaning, he is the supernatural satisfaction that your soul craves. Go to him in prayer and in study, and you will find contentment and satisfaction.
Sample Prayer[1]
“Jesus, as I come to you in prayer and study, reveal yourself to me. Let me be so satisfied with you, that I crave nothing else. Let your word guide me into a real understanding of truth. May I grow in awe and wonder of you goodness, love, glory, holiness, and righteousness. Thank you for the gift that is your word. In Jesus name, Amen.”

Día 08: Dedicados a la Palabra de Dios
Primero, lea el siguiente pasaje del mensaje del domingo:

"12 Y escribe al ángel de la iglesia en Pérgamo: «El que tiene la espada aguda de dos filos, dice esto: 13 “Yo sé dónde moras, donde está el trono de Satanás. Guardas fielmente mi nombre y no has negado mi fe, aun en los días de Antipas, mi testigo, mi siervo fiel, que fue muerto entre vosotros, donde mora Satanás. 14 “Pero tengo unas pocas cosas contra ti, porque tienes ahí a los que mantienen la doctrina de Balaam, que enseñaba a Balac a poner tropiezo ante los hijos de Israel, a comer cosas sacrificadas a los ídolos y a cometer actos de inmoralidad. 15 “Así tú también tienes algunos que de la misma manera mantienen la doctrina de los nicolaítas. 16 “Por tanto, arrepiéntete; si no, vendré a ti pronto y pelearé contra ellos con la espada de mi boca. 17 “El que tiene oído, oiga lo que el Espíritu dice a las iglesias. Al vencedor le daré del maná escondido y le daré una piedrecita blanca, y grabado en la piedrecita un nombre nuevo, el cual nadie conoce sino aquel que lo recibe."
Jesús anima a esta iglesia a rechazar las falsas enseñanzas y los caminos de aquellos que participan en la inmoralidad sexual y la idolatría.
Durante los próximos 6 días, resaltaremos diferentes partes de esta carta a la Iglesia en Pérgamo. Cada día también tendrá un pasaje bíblico adicional para leer y orar. La única forma de negar las falsas enseñanzas/formas de vida es conocer la verdad. Entonces, cuando te dedicas a conocer a Jesús y su palabra, te estás dedicando a la verdad, permitiéndote rechazar el mal y abrazar el bien.
2 Timoteo 3:16-17 LBLA
“16 Toda Escritura es inspirada por Dios y útil para enseñar, para reprender, para corregir, para instruir en justicia, 17 a fin de que el hombre de Dios sea perfecto, equipado para toda buena obra."
En Apocalipsis 2:17, Jesús dice que él es el maná escondido. Es decir, él es la satisfacción sobrenatural que anhela tu alma. Id a él en oración y en estudio, y encontraréis contentamiento y satisfacción.
Ejemplo de oración:[1]
"Jesús, cuando vengo a ti en oración y estudio, revélate a mí. Déjame estar tan satisfecho contigo, que no anhele otra cosa. Que tu palabra me guíe a una verdadera comprensión de la verdad. Que pueda crecer en el asombro y la maravilla de tu bondad, amor, gloria, santidad y justicia. Gracias por el regalo que es tu palabra. En el nombre de Jesús, Amén.”
[1] Su objetivo cada día es no solo leer el pasaje, sino convertir las palabras de ese pasaje en una oración. Cada día, le daremos un ejemplo de esto para ayudar a guiarlo, pero debe escuchar la voz de Dios mientras ora y aplica el pasaje personalmente.
